We’ve loved working with Fi, Matt and Lorna as right from the get-go we could tell they were going to trust us to deliver them a great brand for their new gallery – Velarde. Sometimes when we work with clients that are creatives themselves, they can find it hard to hand over the creative process to a branding agency, but not these guys. Their love of great design and the trust they put in us, gave us the freedom to deliver a brand we are extremely proud of, and to see it all come together at the opening launch party was fantastic.
Velarde is a unique gallery space in the heart of the Devon town of Kingsbridge, near Salcombe in the South Hams. In addition to the interior gallery, they have also designed a wonderful sculpture garden to showcase work from a number of leading and emerging UK and international artists. They have also completely refurbished the two upper floors of the building to create two beautiful apartments to be let out all year round.
We worked with the owners and the Gallery Director right from the start, when they had only just picked up the keys of the run down building on Fore Street in Kingsbridge in Devon. Once the architects plans had been drawn up, we got to work on the creation of the Velarde logo and identity to set the foundations for the brand. The strapline was also important as it needed to communicate there was more to the Velarde brand than just the interior gallery space.
We went on to design the exterior signage, interior vinyls for their launch exhibition, full set of promotional and packaging materials and their social media assets.
The launch party was on 21st July 2023 and we are excited to work with all the Velarde team for many years to come.
