Coffee & Cadence is based on the North Coast of Cornwall in and around Newquay. We had the pleasure of working with its founder to create the Coffee & Cadence branding. We also designed the graphics that would be applied to their amazing Landrover Defender 110 truck so they can take their freshly roasted coffee and homemade sweet snacks on the road to sporting events, festivals and private parties.
As coffee connoisseur and a keen cyclist and, the founder of Coffee & Cadence wanted to combine their two passions into the brand. Cadence is of course a reference the cadence you create during cycling and a smooth cadence leads to more effective cycling and faster ride times. It was also important to communicate the location of the brand, centred in and around Newquay, with surfing another passion of the founder.
The Coffee & Cadence logo is created with clean and strong typography with the circular arrows in the two Cs in Cadence communicating a subtle nod towards the continuous turning of a bike’s pedals to create the smooth cadence needed in cycling. The identity around the logo includes a graphical device of different curves that create a feeling of both the big waves and the rolling countryside you find on the North Cornish coastline.
In addition to the signage on the coffee truck, we also created various print materials and a series of visuals including branded coffee cups, event flags and clothing. A simple 1-page website was all that was needed alongside strong social media activity for Coffee & Cadence to hit the road!
