We created a fresh brand to kick-start an exciting new era for this iconic venue in Newquay. 12 Beach Road is located in the most spectacular setting overlooking Towan Beach that has two cliffs linked by a suspension bridge. Originally a nightclub and then a bar and café, our clients purchased the business as a going concern, bringing us in to take care of the re-brand.
As part of the re-brand, it was agreed that it was important to change the name of the business as the new restaurant was going to be a step up from its previous incarnation. Keeping things simple is always a good idea and so we went for 12 Beach Road as the name as, funnily enough, they are located at 12 Beach Road in Newquay!
We went for a fresh, relaxed beach-side feel to the branding that reflected the ethos of new restaurant – good food, a relaxed vibe and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to the logo and coral illustrative pattern in the fresh blues and coral colours, we also created an ‘all day dining at the beach’ icon with a fish illustration to communicate that fish is the star of the show on their menu and that they are open for all day dining at the beach!
Once the branding was agreed, we got straight to work on the signage for the interior and exterior of the building and uniforms for the staff. We also designed the main menu, drinks menu, coffee loyalty cards, all the usual stationery items and of course, the website.
