As seen on Dragons’ Den in 2025! Beevive is doing a fanatastic job in bringing beautiful products to the market that help bees to thrive in our gardens. Based in Exeter in Devon, Beevive came to us for the product packaging design of their new DIY Bee Hotel Kits and we couldn’t wait to get started.
We love the fact that Beevive are based in Exeter, so local to us here and doing such amazing work to help the bees!
The Beevive DIY Bee Hotel Kit box sleeve has been designed to be really eye-catching on the shelf to attract customers. The front of the box needed to communicate quickly and easily what is inside the box and the illustration of the finished product is an important element of the overall design. We ran with their existing logo (which is really strong, clean and simple – our three favourite things when it comes to creating a logo!) and built upon this with the new design elements on the product packaging to reinforce their brand identity.
The illustrative grasses and flowers and the buzzing bee add a softness to the design alongside the bold typographical style. We have gone on to use these illustrative elements on other print and packaging items for Beevive. We are looking forward to working with the Beevive team for many years to come, they are doing great things for bees!
In May 2024, this Beevive Bee Hotel Kit won Gift of the Year 2024 in the Design and Craft Category – well done to all at Beevive HQ and of course to us for being involved in the design of the packaging element of this fantastic product.
We have worked on several other projects for the Beevive team including the complete re-design of the packaging for their best-selling Bee Revivial Kits. The design is a clever little tray that holds the Bee Revival Kit in position and their were two versions – one for the original version of the kit and one for their popular bamboo version. This product packaging was a tricky balance of technical elements and design to showcase their best-selling product that will be on display in stores worldwide and on the Beevive website. We’re very proud of the finished product, and it was exciting it to see it featured on their recent appearance on Dragon’s Den (Series 22, Episode 5).
“The team at Wetdog Creative are a joy to work with! They listened carefully to our brief, adopted our brand values, and produced some bee-rilliant pieces of work for us, including product packaging for our new DIY Bee Hotel Kits. No detail goes overlooked and we are buzzing with the end result! Thank you from your bee pals at Beevive.”
