Bodies Under Construction

is a pilates and physiotherapy business based in London. Back in the Spring of 2008 they asked us to create the brand identity for their new pilates studio in Chiswick...and quick smart too... as they were due to open in three weeks time!

As their company name lent itself to a ‘construction’ feel, we went for an industrial look, albeit a 'disco industrial' look with glossy yellow and black stripes and alternative pink/black stripes. Using a gloss laminate on the print and studio signage really works well and, although we hardly ever choose a gloss finish, on this it somehow just feels right!

They have since expanded from the one pilates studio in Chiswick to create a closely related physiotherapy practice as well, within two clinic locations (Chiswick and Putney). We designed a new version of the original logo as this physio area of the business needed its own identity. It is closely linked to the pilates brand, but we went for a curved feel to the stripes and introduced blue as their secondary colour to the main black and yellow palette. We followed the same gloss lam spec for their print items and created a dedicated physio website.
